Rukmini Devi Arundale, the founder of Kalakshetra to create a structured curriculum and standardize the teaching methods. Varnam, a colorful component in which the nritta, nritya and natya elements are finely juxtaposed
Keerthanam, a descriptive devotional piece that provides immense creative scope for a performing artiste.
Performed by Kalakshetra students in the sylvan surroundings of their alma mater, it sincerely captures the spirit and style of the institution. Each piece is preceded by a lucid introduction by a Kalakshetra faculty member which is at once educative and informative.
