Adavus / Adavus & Korvais – a practice aid

This audio CD presents ‘Adavus’ and ‘Korvais’- the two integral aspects of Bharathanatyam, India’s traditional dance form.

It contains a track-wise recording of some of the often-used adavus, with one or more practice variations in each. A booklet naming each adavu and describing its delineation is also included.

There is a value addition to this product in the form of a recording of twenty Korvais (sequences of adavus) composed in different permutations and combinations of rhythm. This will prove useful to dancers and teachers in choreographing sequences of movement
