Saptha Thandavam – the 7 dazzling dances of Siva

‘Thandava Sabdha’ or the original sounds of Thandava taken from the archaeological material compiled by Prof. Ramadesikan. Each Thandava has been created with different musical score set to different rhythmic patterns not used before. Each Thandava has been tuned to a different raga rendered by different singers. Contains a sprinkle of live audio of the five elements or the ‘Pancha Bhutha’. Rendition of ‘Thevara Thirumurai’ after each Thandava.

Anandha Thandavam

Oordhava Thandavam
Ragham Brindavani, Talam Chathusra Thrupudai, 8:50 The peppy dance performed by Lord Siva in Chidambaram when challenged into a dance contest by Kali, his consort.

Uma Thandavam
Ragham Ranjani, Talam Chathusra Ata, 8:35 The dance performed by Lord Siva with Uma as his co-dancer wherein He rests his left foot on the demon and lifts the right foot.

Samhara Thandavam
Ragham Lavangi, Talam Chathusra Ekam, 11:44 The fierce dance of decimation, said to have been performed by Lord Siva when Sati burnt herself into ashes, which releases the good from the shackles of evil.
